ANTIVIRAL SUPPLEMENTS

November 8th, 2009

CUSTOMERS ARE CALLING DAILY CONCERNED WITH THE VIRUS AND/OR FLU SEASON. I RECOMMEND THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS: WASH YOUR HANDS FREQUENTLY, DON’T TOUCH HANDLES ON DOORS OR FAUCETS WITHOUT A PAPER TOWEL OR SANITIZING FIRST, SNEEZE IN ARM PIT OR TISSUES, TRY NOT SHAKE HANDS AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST TRY ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING PRODUCTS:

ORTHOMOLECULAR MAKES ORTHO BIOTICS IN POWDER AND CAPSULES. I’VE GOTTEN GOOD FEEDBACK REGARDING THIS PRODUCT. FLORIDIAN CUSTOMER TELLS ME SINCE USING ORTHO BIOTICS POWDER (WHICH IS TASTELESS) SHE NO LONGER GETS SICK, EVEN WHEN EXPOSED TO PEOPLE WITH COLDS AND FLU.

MONOLAURIN (DERIVED FROM COCONUTS) HAS ANTIVIRAL BENEFITS, NOT TO MENTION IT ALSO IS RECOMMENDED FOR THYROID PROBLEMS. COCONUT OIL HAS RECEIVED A BAD RAP IN THE PAST FOR RAISING CHOLESTEROL, HOWEVER IT ACTUALLY LOWERS LDL (BAD) AND RAISES HDL (GOOD). ALSO, IT IS MEDIUM CHAIN TRICLYCERIDES, WHICH SHOULD LOWER HIGH TRICLYCERIDES. COCONUT OIL ACTIVE INGREDIENT IS LAURIC ACID, WHICH IS VERY BENEFICIAL TO HER HEALTH AND THYROID FUNCTION AND IT’S ALSO COMPARABLE TO MOTHER’S MILK, WHICH HAS IMMUNE PROPERTIES.

RED MARINE ALGAE BY PLANET EARTH AND/OR FLEW AWAY BY NATURA HEALTH PRODUCTS, INC. ARE ALSO VERY GOOD PRODUCTS WHICH HAVE BEEN SHOWN TO HAVE ANTIVIRAL PROPERTIES.

THERE ARE MANY OTHER PRODUCTS WHICH I’VE USED AS WELL AS CLIENTS/CUSTOMERS THAT MAY PROTECT YOU DURING THE FLU SEASON — ALTHOUGH WE DON’T HAVE MUCH OF SEASONS ANYMORE. THE FLU CAN HIT AT ANY TIME, SO TRY TO TAKE THE AFOREMENTIONED PRECAUTIONS.

Petroleum

April 28th, 2009

I cannot believe that people are still using petroleum jelly – some forms may be toxic. Also, if used on your private areas it will cause bacteria to grow. If you use it, make sure it says pure petrolatum USP.

Many people, especially women are complaining about chronic vaginal infections. Besides antibiotics, which tend to cause yeast infections — use of the aforementioned jelly is a big problem. Time after time people tell me they use it as a lubricant — STOP!!!

Try Emerita personal moisturizer or NOW vegetable glycerine. Most women are allergic to ointments and gels in that area unless they specify on bottle – made from water base and natural oils. Also, fruits and perfumes can be a big problem even when they are natural — so choose unscented products.

New Diet Pills

March 16th, 2009

If you’re looking for a non-stimulant, healthy diet pill try PommeTHIN by EuroPharma. It is clinically proven to reduce appetite, may help reduce calorie absorption, may reduce sugar cravings and may help you feel full.

Besides the benefits of healthy weight loss, it’s all natural – made from apple soluble fibers and apple extract. One of the active ingredients in this formula is quercetin which is a powerful antioxidant. It is also a natural anti-histamine, and anti-inflammatory.

Another two products I like from EuroPharma Dieter’s Choice for Carb Control containing Phaseolamin and Dieter’s Choice for Fat Control contains the safe and clinically studied Galangal EP176.

The following information is from EuroPharma:

The Max-Phase Phaseolamin is released at the targeted site of pancreas, inhibiting the release of amylase which is responsible for breaking down carbohydrates and , therefore, inhibiting (blocking) absorption of up to 75 grams of carbs and 300 calories per meal.

This unique, highly concentrated extract of Lesser Galangal (Alpinia officinarum) is stabilized with a patented enteric coated technology. Dieter’s Choice for Fat Control may assist your weight loss program by inhibiting the release of lipase from the pancreas which is responsible for the breakdown of fats.*

The coating technology allows the tablet to pass through the digestive tract and to be released at the targeted site for maximum effectiveness.*

Inhibiting fat digestion reduces the uptake of fat calories.

Lab studies show that there are no known side effects when used as directed.
A long-lasting weight loss program should include a balanced nutrition plan and regular exercise. As with any weight loss program, consult a physician.

Follow directions on box or bottle.

Curamin

March 16th, 2009

Body pain

Painkillers & What Curamin can do for you!

As most of us know there is an in this country. Unfortunately the aforementioned only camouflage the problem they don’t work within to heal and cure the problem. They only, in fact, cause havoc on people’s health.

For instance overuse of antiflammatories (NSAIDS) can cause internal bleeding and/or stomach problems as well as kidney disease. Painkillers, like percocet, oxycontin, vicodin are highly addicting and cause colon problems.

Several people I know were put on steroids for RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis) which increased their blood pressure, weight, and caused an elevation in blood sugar. They also were given chemo drugs, which have even worse side effects.

One product that I suggest trying Curamin by EuroPharma, which contains a synergistic blend of natural anti-inflammatories, nattokinase (enzymes with fibrinolytic units) and dl phenylalanine – as a natural painkiller.

After taking a natural product they felt much better and were able to get off of the drugs and attain better health and well being. Also, over the last few months, the company collected many testimonials from people who’ve used the formula.

Always check with your doctor first, especially if you’re currently taking medication.

HRT

March 8th, 2009

Some women aren’t aware that Premarin and Prempro may cause an increase in blood pressure; elevation of CRP (C-Reactive Protein) – marker in blood work that determines systemic inflammation, which can cause serious heart problems, e.g. stroke. Also may cause breast cancer and/or blood clots.

One woman I know just used a small amount premarin cream and started vomiting everyday, not realizing that the cream was the cause. She thought she had a virus.

The alternatives to the aforementioned are natural progesterone cream by Life-flo or Emerita (paraben free), along with Natural Factor’s EstroSense for hormone balance support.

Another great product to use is Shatavari or as mentioned in my blog entitled Asparagus.

Please discuss all your options with your gynecologist and have the necessary blood tests first.

The following is a testimonial from a woman who used Life-flo progesterone:

From Ohio
This product absolutely saved me. I’m just 43, so I assume it’s perimenopause, but I began suddenly having horrific night sweats and hot flashes throughout the day. I was getting little sleep as I was awakened every night tossing and turning to cool off several times a night. After suffering through them for several weeks, I finally researched what I could do to help. This cream was a true life saver for me. It put a complete stop to my uncomfortable night sweats and hot flashes after just one day! No kidding! I applied it in the morning and that very night, I slept for the first time in weeks without awakening. It was incredible. I could not believe how quickly and effectively it worked for me. If you’re suffering from hot flashes and you haven’t tried a progesterone cream yet…. this one works!! Maybe they all do..I don’t know, but I do KNOW this one does!

Hypothyroidism

February 4th, 2009

Hypothyroidism is more common in women. The balance of estrogen and progesterone can have a big influence on the thyroid glands. This is one of the biggest problems when women approach menopause.

Women on synthetic estrogen therapy are particularly susceptible to decreased thyroid function. Also, the effects of stress and the balance of stress hormones are important factors in thyroid function.

Have your doctor check your TSH levels, as well as your hormone levels.

There are naturals products that you can try that may help alleviate the aforementioned condition, e.g., Natural Factors’ Menosense and Natural Factors’ Thyroid Health Formula.

Disc Problems

February 4th, 2009

Either because of injury or degenerative disease caused by aging, disc problems (herniated discs/bulging discs) may occur. The main products that may support and help alleviate pain are the following:

Chondroitin, Glucosamine, MSM, NAG, L-Proline, L-Lysine, Vit. C, Manganese, and Molybdenum – to name a few.

Also, the aforementioned supplements may help repair connective tissues, cartilage and the arteries as well. Some customers have actually had complete improvement in herniated discs to the point where they actually healed — the actual time depends on each individual. I also recommend P/T (physical therapy) and/or exercise.

I like American Biologic’s Ultra Connexin or Jarrow’s Glucosamine + Chondroitin + MSM

RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis)

February 4th, 2009

RA has a bad reputation because it may cause crippling joint deformities. Other symptoms involve both hands waving with lumps under skin (nodules), swelling, redness (when inflammed) and fatigue (especially after exercise).

The conventional drugs used may cause severe side effects. I prefer alternative supplements, i.e., NORDIC NATRUALS OMEGA 3-6-9, BLACK CHERRY JUICE, ZYFLAMEND, and/or GLUCOSAMINE WITH MSM BY JARROW OR NATURE’S PLUS.

Try to get into a good pool program for gentle exercise — water is very therapeutic and beneficial for RA patients.

Parabens

February 4th, 2009

Parabens are preservatives used in creams, cosmetics and deodorants. The question is are they dangerous? If you want you can use NOW’s natural oils with total purity and nothing added. I like Almond oil, which is closest to our skin’s balance.

A small study showed traces of parabens in a tiny sample of breast cancer tumors. Study concludes parabens used as preservatives in creams and deodorants have weak estrogen-like properties, but in another study in question makes no cause-and-effect connection between parabens and breast cancer nor did it conclusively identify the source of parabens found in the tumors.

My conclusion is let’s leave them out of any of the aforementioned products to be safe.

For example, I suggest trying the natural crystal deodorants by Sedona Products or The Crystal by F/T Ltd., for creams and lotions try Burt’s Bees, Earth Science, Jarrow, Kiss My Face. Also for progesterone creams use Emerita or LifeFlo.

Prostate Problems

February 4th, 2009

Men over 40 may start experiencing problems with their prostate (frequency in urinating is one). Of course, one step to take is have your doctor do a prostate exam. There are two factors in determining a healthy prostate — PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) and BPH (Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy).

Each year about 500,000 men are diagnosed with BPH compared to approximately 180,000 of men who are diagnosed with Prostate Cancer (PC). although over 30,000 men die a year from PC very few die from BPH.

One of the major causes of high BPH and PC is increased levels of DHT (Dihydrotesterone). Try to follow guidelines below. If you have a family history of PC, please get checked yearly or as recommended by your physician. If your PSA is below 1.0 mg/ml. test every 2 – 3 years.

Eat plenty of high lignan oils/foods, e.g., flax oil w/lignans and or sesame oil w/lignans, pumpkin oil (for bladder support) cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower and brussel sprouts), lycopene found in cooked tomatoes (may inhibit tumor cell proliferation), pumpkin seeds, berries and very little meat. Decrease your intake of white flour and white sugar.

Several companies put out very good products in capsules or softgels which contain some of the aforementioned, i.e., Jarrow Prostate Optimizer, Life Extension’s Ultra Natural Prostate, or Solaray Prostate Defense. I highly recommend supplementing if you’re not eating right.
